Saykal Marble’s showroom and office design project in Istanbul has been realized by Pavé Studio by planning to set up the connection in the venue most correctly. In the presentation of the marbles, each of which have an effect like an artwork with their natural colours and patterns, the idea of bringing out the value of the stone and highlighting it like an artwork has been applied. While the double marble installation welcoming the visitors at the entrance of the showroom strengthens this affect, the marbles placed on pedestals of different widths and heights in the interior space have been turned into exhibiting areas where different surfaces of the stone can be felt. The venue has been separated in three sections as the office, showroom and workshop areas but has been designed with a liquid setup in terms of both the design language and the function of usage. The whole venue has been considered as a space like a jewelry box that preserves and offers its valuable jewels. As a reflection of the combination of presentation and hosting culture, comfort zones have been created for visitors where they can spend time and think in front of the fireplace. Through reflective surfaces and curved positionings, and through solutions like presenting the pattern and light of the stones in a blaze of glory or applying them on object and furniture designs, the aim has been to both bring out the value of the stone and to give an idea regarding the function.
